Abstract

Currently, the SPA industry is starting to revive after experiencing a significant decline at the peak of the COVID-19 pandemic. To anticipate an increase in the number of consumers, it is also necessary to improve the quantity and quality of human resources in this sector. In addition, there is also a need for people who have sufficient knowledge, skills and motivation to participate in building a SPA business in Indonesia, especially in Manado. Realizing this, the Community Service Team from the Faculty of Tourism, University of De La Salle Manado, collaborated with several colleagues from the Physiotherapy Study Program, the Faculty of Nursing and the Faculty of Economics and Business to hold a SPA Therapist and Baby SPA Training. The participants in this activity were the Buha Village government and the surrounding community as well as students from the Faculty of Tourism. During the activity there were material presentations, skills training, and questionnaire distribution. The results of this activity showed an increase in the knowledge and skills of the participants and also increased motivation to open a SPA business.
