PENINGKATAN KESEHATAN MENTAL PADA ANAK USIA SEKOLAH BERBASIS PLAY THERAPY

Abstract

Children are a group that is vulnerable to mental health problems because during their development period, children are not yet able to make decisions. do not have life experience in overcoming problems and challenges in life. Various problems that occur include mood changes, behavioral disorders, and problems severe psychological problems such as anxiety, depression, self-injury and other people's behavior others, mental disorders, bullying and even attempted suicide. So that, Mental health at the age of children must be a special concern from all parties because cause various disturbances/problems at later stages of development. this activity carried out at SD Negeri Maumbi, Kalawat District, North Minahasa Regency. The provision of educational material is given in the form of play therapy, stimulation, and discussion (questions and answers). This activity was attended by 20 student participants and 2 accompanying teachers. result, there was a 100% increase in mental health knowledge and the participants enthusiastically participated activities because play therapy gives a feeling of relaxation so that it is easy to understand the material education. It is recommended that this activity be carried out by the elementary school, in order so that there is an increase in knowledge about mental health and problems experienced so that can prevent the negative impact of mental health problems at school age (6-12 years old).
